Reasons For High Water Temperature Of Generator
Excessive water temperature of diesel generator set is a common breakdown. When the water temperature is too high, it will cause piston jam, cylinder pulling ,it will also cause the decrease of lubricating oil viscosity, which affects the power performance of the generator. In order to control the water temperature,please keep in the allowable value. There are several reasons for the high water temperature.
1.Radiator blocked
The radiator contains clogging substances, or it is installed upside down, which will cause the water temperature to rise and prevent the heat from dissipating. If the radiator surface has oil, the mixture of oil and dust, or the floating, will make heat more difficult to emit. Should carefully pull out with a thinner piece of steel. Then clean the radiator with a water gun. If use hot water and cleaning fluid together,it will be better.
2.Improper coolant
If the coolant is improperly selected or insufficient, it will affect its cooling performance. The working temperature of diesel generator will be very high.Need to add coolant in time or choose suitable coolant.
3.Water pump failure
The water pump failure will cause the flow rate of the coolant small,and more scale deposits in the pump,so will reduce the heat dissipation performance of the generator and cause the oil temperature rise.
4.Overloaded
When the generator is overloaded, the heat will continue to rise, exceeding the heat dissipation capacity of the generator. At the same time, the temperature of the coolant will rise, causing black smoke, noise and so on.
5.Thermostat failure
When the thermostat is turned on at around 85, it means that the thermostat is in good working condition and will be fully open at 105. Its main function is to be able to adjust the circulation of the cooling system. The thermostat should be inspected appropriately. The thermostat should be disassembled during inspection and then suspended in a container with warm water. Then put in a thermometer and slowly heat it from the bottom to check the working status of the thermostat. If it does not reach 85 or105 is fully opened, it means that the thermostat failure, should replace it.
In addition, there are also problems such as incorrect indication of the temperature gauge or warning light, cylinder damage, and improper fuel injection time, which have led to the problem of excessively high water temperature in the generator. Please resolved in time when found,otherwise it will cause some damage to the generator.
