What are the symptoms if the ignition coil is broken?

ignition coil is broken

First, when idling, the body shakes and vibrates obviously. Observe the exhaust pipe hole. There is a clear gap between the exhaust gases flowing out of the car. At the same time, the exhaust pipe shakes violently. You can clearly hear the voice of "Tu".

Second, when the vehicle speed is less than 2500 rpm during driving, the vehicle body has obvious shaking vibration and weak acceleration; When the rotating speed exceeds 2500 rpm, the shaking feeling disappears.

Third, open the engine cover and observe the running engine. The engine shakes obviously. This sloshing vibration is obviously not the sloshing vibration under normal engine working conditions, and the sloshing vibration amplitude is large.

Ignition coil fault

1.Short circuit of ignition coil winding will lead to low ignition coil voltage, insufficient ignition energy, and then lead to too fast blackening of spark plug electrode (often polluted by carbon deposit).

2.If the ignition coil is open or grounded, it will not cause high voltage and cannot be ignited.

3.Ignition coil surface discharge refers to the spark flashover phenomenon on the external surface of the ignition coil. The main cause of surface discharge is dust and serious moisture on the surface. Surface discharge often occurs near the high-voltage conductor screw, so the sheath is usually installed at the connection between the high-voltage conductor screw and the high-voltage wire. When there is surface discharge, burn marks can often be seen at the discharge point. When the combustion loss is slight, the combustion loss can be cut off and kept warm.

4.Ignition coil insulation aging. The reason is that the ignition coil temperature rises rapidly due to the frequent ignition of the vehicle under high temperature or high speed and heavy load. However, the insulation aging of the ignition coil itself makes it discharge and short circuit under high temperature and high voltage, which affects the reduction of the actual turns ratio of the primary and secondary windings of the ignition coil, and leads to the decrease of the voltage value of the secondary winding, resulting in sudden flameout and vehicle speed failure. The working temperature of the ignition coil shall not exceed 80 ℃, otherwise the ignition coil will overheat. The overheating of the ignition coil will melt the insulation layer inside the ignition coil and accelerate the damage of the ignition coil.
