Oil Air Separator Filter Element: Working Principle

The air compressed from the head of the main compressor carries oil droplets of different sizes. Large oil droplets are easily separated by the oil air separator tank, while small oil droplets (suspended) must be filtered by the micron glass fiber filter material of the oil gas separation filter element. Choosing a good diameter and thickness of glass fiber is a key factor in ensuring filtration efficiency. After the oil mist is intercepted, diffused, and aggregated by the filter material, small oil droplets quickly aggregate into large oil droplets, which, under the action of aerodynamic force and gravity, pass through the filter layer and settle at the bottom of the filter element. The oil continuously returns to the lubrication system through the return pipe inlet in the groove at the bottom of the filter element, allowing the compressor to discharge relatively pure and high-quality compressed air.So the maintenance of the oil air separator filter is also particularly important.
