Characteristics of Copper And Aluminum Radiator
There are two materials for generator radiators, copper and aluminum. Copper radiators have the functions of heat preservation and dissipation, but they dissipate heat slowly and at a higher price. Aluminum radiators dissipate heat faster, but are prone to oxidation. Copper has a good heat dissipation effect, but its cost is high. Processing is also more difficult.
Aluminum radiators dissipate heat faster and have greater heat dissipation capacity, while copper radiators have the opposite effect. Copper has relatively good thermal conductivity. If the temperature is high, aluminum radiators are more prone to oxidation, which affects heat dissipation performance.
In terms of thermal conductivity alone, copper is indeed much faster than aluminum, but aluminum dissipates heat faster than copper. If you choose a copper radiator, you need to increase the speed and power of the fan to achieve the same cooling effect as an aluminum radiator. Therefore, for most ordinary diesel generator users, the preferred choice is aluminum fin radiators. Copper radiators are only considered in some high-end diesel generators.
